When I travel to and from my studio next to the Hudson River in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of New York City I am always struck by the perpetual motion and physical changes at play.
From the vantage point of my studio I see and experience the elements that make up these changes, some fast moving and monumental others almost imperceptible.
For this body of work I painted with quick drying Flashe paint and high-keyed translucent acrylic on handmade paper to build fixed point grids, veils of color and translucent river and glass reflections to interpret some of these elements in a spontaneous and whimsical way.
